Museveni is silently fighting Private Schools” Father Gaetano

By our reporter

RUKIGA– The outspoken Kitanga Parish Priest Rev Father Gaetano Batanyenda has blasted Ugandan government for unlincesing private schools stressing that the move is aimed at fighting private schools.

Last week, the ministry of Education and sports withdrew licenses of all private schools requesting the owners to register for fresh ones as Schools prepare for reopening.

Speaking to our reporter, Father Gaetano who has been alongtime government critic said that the Government under President Yoweri Museveni is fighting Private schools silently.

“He is looking for a way of closing down all the private schools but he is playing every game though it’s not yet done as he wants it, everyone can see it”, He explained.

He further called upon the government to open schools as early as possible because they are killing Learners’ future.

“You open markets and then say children should remain at home, no no for me this is very wrong”, he added.

Schools have been closed since March 2020 to curtail the spread of Covid-19 though although the government bat one point reopened in a phased manner and later closed again.

During the recent presidential speech, Museveni announced that schools (Nursery, Primary and Secondary) will be reopened in 2022 after a sizeable number of ugandans have received their COVID-19 doses.
