IGG investigates corrupt Kasese officials

BY RWENZORI DAILY

The office of the Inspector General of Government has again picked interest in alleged corruption scandals in Kasese district.

The team from Kampala arrived in Kasese on Monday and reliable sources close to this online said that a number of files of some officials were collected from the health department and works offices.

This website is yet to establish what exactly brought the inspectorate team in the district and zeroed on two departments; however, the Inspectorate of Government is an independent institution charged with the responsibility of eliminating corruption, abuse of authority and of public office.

In May 2022, some district officials were arrested by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and handed the suspects at Kasese Central Police station.

However, the arrests of the officials got a lot of public mixed reactions saying that the arrests targeted certain officials.

In an interview with the Chief Administrative Officer, Elias Byamukungu, he confirmed the arrival of the inspectorate department which is charge to investigate corrupt related scandals.

Details will come to you in our subsequent write-ups
