Mo Salah demands half a million pounds a week to stay at Liverpool amid transfer interest

By our reporter

The Egypt international is demanding a club record salary to stay at Liverpool, where he’s scored 127 goals in 206 appearances

Mo Salah wants a staggering £500,000 a week to extend his stay with Liverpool.

The 29-year-old is already one of the biggest earners at Anfield – a reward for continually ending up on top of the club’s scoring charts.

But he is has less than two years of his current deal, believed to be more than £200,000 a week, to run, and manager Jurgen Klopp is anxious to tie him down to keep him out of the clutches of interested big guns which include Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Already a number of established stars including Virgil van Dijk, Alisson and skipper Jordan Henderson have agreed to commit their long term futures to the club by signing new improved deals.

None of them though have been as ambitious as Salah in their wage demands which has meant that so far there has been no breakthrough in on going talks.

If agreed it would be the biggest ever financial package for a player in Liverpool’s proud history although so far there have been no signs that Salah will get his own way.
