Kasese Woman Member of Parliament donates new brand ambulance to electorates in the district to save the lives of expectant mothers.

The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament has donated a new brand ambulance to the electorate in the district purposely to save the lives of expectant mothers.

Florence Kabugho says she is concerned that many ladies continue to suffer from their homes due to lack of transport means to take them to the different health facilities, a reason she has bought a fully equipped ambulance Registration Number UBK 150 G.

While officially launching the donation at a function that was held at Trans Africa Holiday INN in Kasese town, Kabugho said the ambulance was meant to be used by all the ladies irrespective of their political and religious affiliations.

The legislator also pledged to look for an alternative means of transport to the people living in the mountains.

Police had earlier deployed at the venue to ensure that the invited persons observe the presidential guidelines against the spread of Covid-19. However, when the ambulance arrived, police blocked it from accessing the venue but after serious negations, police opened way for the ambulance to proceed to the venue.

The Bukonzo County West Member of Parliament, Godfrey Atkins Katusabe said there was need for the people and leaders to unite irrespective of their political affiliations.

The Kasese District Chairperson for the Social Services Committee, Joyce Biira Kiripi said as women, they were happy with Florence Kabugho for tackling their issues.

The Kasese Municipality Mayor, Chance Kahindo urged his fellow politicians to desist from political talks and focus on development.

Saulo Maate, the Kasese District FDC Chairperson, observed that much as the Members of Parliament from the district are working towards unity amongst themselves, the same idea should be decentralized at the grass root level. According to Maate, the district is still experiencing a number of issues related to political and tribal divisions.
