Body of drowned Kabale Church Leader retrieved from Lake Bunyonyi.

The Marine police on Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale District on Tuesday retrieved the body of Kabale Catholic Church leader who on Monday drowned and died instantly while sailing on Lake Bunyonyi waters.

The deceased is Kizabona Nafutali 35, a catechist at Kayanga Catholic church, Murambo parish, Butanda sub county in Kabale district.

It’s alleged that on Monday morning at around 7AM while he was in the middle of water at Lake Bunyonyi, the local canoe he was using capsized and he drowned.

According to Marine police on the Lake, the deceased never had any protective gear by the time his canoe lost balance and capsized.

Elly Maate, the kigezi region police spokesperson confirmed the retrieval of the body and asked the community around the lake to always take safety precautions serious by wearing life saving jackets whenever they are sailing on waters.
