Blogger Fred Lumbuye finally released from detention

By our reporter

Government critic and Blogger Fred Lumbuye Kajubi has been released from the Turkish detention where he was held for nearly two months.

The National Unity Platform lawyer and Kyadondo East member of Parliament Muwada Nkunyingi says the release of Lumbuye has been a concerted effort between Ugandan and Turkish lawyers.

But his release is only the beginning of a journey in which according to Nkunyingi will see other legal processes pursued.

“I have this morning personally held a telephone conversation with Lumbuye. He is fine and well, confident. He is out of Prison and thanked you all for the prayers and efforts. We shall keep you posted” Nkunyingi, a shadow minister for foreign affairs said.
