Doctor Julius Rude revives the spirit of Sports in Bukonzo East-Kasese

Hundreds and thousands of spectators on January 03, 2022 thronged Kisinga Playground in Kisinga Town Council to witness the semi-finals and finals of Dr. Rude 2021-2022 Football and Netball Tournament.

The tournament which started on December 10, 2021 across the ten lower administrative units (sub-counties and town councils) that make up Bukonzo County East was sponsored by the Area Parliamentary National Resistance Movement flag bearer, Dr. Julius Monday Rude.

In the end, Bright Line Football Club which represents Kisinga Sub-county emerged the winner after Mahango Sub-county Football Club in penalty kicks.

Bright Line FC scored five kicks to four kicks for Mahango FC.

Earlier, Bright Line FC had beat Kyarumba Town Council 2-0 while Mahango FC beat Kinyamaseke Town Council in penalty kicks in the semi-finals before the two Football Clubs met in the Finals.

Bright Line FC walked away with a trophy and a cash of shillings five hundred thousand while Mahango FC that was the second was given cash of shillings two hundred and fifty thousand.

Also, Bright Line Netball Club emerged the winner after beating Fika Salama Netball Club representing Kinyamaseke town Council. And the winner got a cash of shillings two hundred and fifty thousand.

Addressing the mammoth crowds immediately after the matches, Dr. Rude said the core aim of the League was to bring all the youths across the constituency together as well as developing their talents.

The function was graced by the Kasese Resident District Commissioner, Lt. Joe Walusimbi as the Chief Guest, who called upon the youths to support government programmes.
