Village Health Team – VHT members and Local Council I Chairpersons in the Central Division of Kasese Municipality have been challenged to actively participate in the campaign against the spread of Covid-19.
Martin Safari, the Division L. C III Chairperson says this will help government to achieve her vision of allocating money to the VHTs and Local Council I Taskforces to sensitize the community about the pandemic.
Safari argued that some of the VHTs and Chairpersons at different levels are among the people who claim that the money given to them was not enough to enable them reach all the corners of their respective elective areas.
Habib Bikumbi, the Health Inspector for the Central Division, urged the Chairpersons to share the received money with their Executive members as directed by the Ministry.
Each of the L. C I Chairpersons was given shillings 100,000 as a facilitation for three months.
Alfred Kule, the Coordinator for the VHTs in the entire Division hailed government for the initiative. He, however, requested that it would be a good ideal for the money to be increased.
