Public in Kasese urged to work towards the prevention of malaria

By Editor

The Kasese District Health Officer has appealed to the entire population to try all the possible means to prevent the spread of malaria during this rainy season.

Dr. Yusuf Baseke sounded the appeal on Thursday while speaking to our reporter at his office.

Dr. Baseke explained that malaria remains a big health threat to the people especially those living in the lowland areas across the district hence a need to fight against it.

The Health Officer also encouraged the people to always sleep under mosquito nets, drying stagnant water bodies that act as mosquito breeding places near their homes among other measures.

He hailed the residents for their vigilance towards fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, asking those who have never been vaccinated to go for the jabs at their nearest health centres across the district.
