Police registers reduction in cases in past 42 days.

The Police in Tororo district have in the last 42 days registered a sharp rise in domestic violence and decrease in crime.

Dixon Ambikiire the district Police Commander confirmed the development and asked the couples involved in such acts to stop since the acts affect not only the family but the community and future generation as a whole.

Ambikiire adds that Police has set possible ways to counsel the aggrieved couples to learn how to bear with each other especially during this tough season.

The Commander said the firces and political leaders have come together to sensitize the community in the district on ending domestic violence and child abuse.

On crime rate in Tororo district, Ambikiire says the trend generally reduced in the past 42 days from 181 to 142 cases so far most of which are criminal trespass cases.

Dpc Ambikiire now calls upon the community members in Tororo district to have tolerance with each other in following the guidelines put in place by the Ministry of health stressing that self discipline is key to defeating the virus.
