Residents of Kihalimu cell in the Central Division of Kasese Municipality today morning woke up in shock after they discovered a lifeless body of yet unidentified person having been dumped in the area.
The deceased in his early twenties was donned in a gentleman’s trouser, a pink shirt, jacket and open shoes and did not have any documents that the residents and security operatives would have used to identify the body.
Isaac Kalyabyuma, the Nyakabingo II Ward Chairperson confirmed the incident.
According to him, this becomes the third related incident to happen in the ward since 2019.
The Kasese Municipality Mayor, Chance Kahindo, who also rushed to the scene of crime, said it was a bad gesture for people to move without any identification documents.
Kahindo also urged the residents to always become skeptical and report people that seem to be new in the area arguing that they could be one of the perpetrators of crimes that are committed in various places.
He also observed need for the landlords to install security lights on their buildings in a bid to avoid related crimes from happening.
By press time, police had taken the body of the deceased to Kasese Municipal Health Centre III mortuary for postmortem.
