Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament Hon Ferigo Kambale wants the disbursement of funds meant for the parish community associations and special micro projects halted.
In January this year, the district received 147 million shillings from the ministry of Luweero-Rwenzori; 126 million shillings was meant for the parish community associations while the 21 million was meant for special micro projects support.

Now, in a letter addressed to Kasese Chief Administrative Officer dated March 2, a copy of which Rwenzori Daily has seen, Hon Kambale wants the disbursement halted citing discrimination and irregularities in the selection of the intended beneficiary groups.
The MP who claimed to be exercising his oversight role wants to be furnished with details of all the beneficiary groups before the money can be distributed to them. Kambale says he wants investigations into the alleged irregularities.
Amon Mwema, the chairperson for Scheme Ward Community Association and Robert Balyebuga, the Kamaiba Ward Community Association Chairperson say they were dismayed that the legislator is delaying the disbursement of money that is meant to support the local people.
Juliet Masika, Evelyn Masika and Moreen Anah Muhindo all of them members of some Parish community associations that were affected even threatened to petition the office of the prime minister to have the money released. They have appealed to him to withdraw his letter with immediate effect.
