The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament, Florence Kabugho has joined residents of Nsenyi and Kalingwe villages in Kisinga sub-county for communal work on the Nsenyi-Kalingwe community access road.
Last week, residents of Kalingwe village in Nsenyi Parish of Kisinga Sub-county castigated their leaders for failure to attend to their needs including construction of the road network.
Now today, while speaking to the Woman MP, the residents reported that the 6 km road which was opened in 2001 by the community has never been taken by district.
The residents hailed the legislator for joining them in an effort to make the road better.
Kisinga Sub County Chairperson Julius Mukeri reported that the 6 km Nsenyi- Kalingwe mountainous road is too expensive for the sub county to maintain owing to its small budget. Mukeri appealed to the district local government to take-up the road so as to facilitate effective service delivery in the area.
Speaking to the excited residents, Florence Kabugho, who donated sacks of maize flour and hoes among others to help in the communal exercise, pledged to lobby the district to have the road put under the maintenance of the district local government.
