Isango Sub County in Kasese district has been ranked in the third position with low latrine coverage, this online has learnt.
The sub-county chairperson, Mr. Moses Tsutsu has confirmed the information with an appeal to the locals to have improved latrines.
Last week Kasese District health department released a full report about the latrine coverage and Isango was ranked in the third position.
Mr. Tsutsu says most of the families in his area of command are still having unimproved latrines, saying it poses a great health risk to the community members.
So, to address the issue, Tsutsu revealed that his leadership has given an ultimatum of two weeks to whoever has unimproved latrine to construct a good one.
He adds that they have authorized the Village Health Team members to inspect all homes in the sub-county and any family found having failed to comply will not be spared.
He adds that the sub county leadership cannot sit and see people practicing open defecation in the bush and along the roads which is too risky to the lives of the community members.
