Government will give more than shillings 20 million to each of the best Emyooga SACCOs, the press has learnt.
Emanuel Mbogha, the Zonal leader for the Microfinance Support Centre yesterday told the SACCO leaders during their training that was held at White House Gardens in Kasese town that at least 80% of the Emyooga SACCOs were doing well and therefore qualify to benefit from the project.
The training was aimed at training the leaders on book keeping and Finance Governance.
He revealed the best performing SACCOs including Kasese People Living with disabilities and Kasese Municipality Restaurant Owners among others.
Wilson Bwambale Ngene, the Kasese Emyooga Regional Coordinator said the intended purpose of Emyooga is to have 68% of Ugandans establish and embrace small scale business for financial inclusion.
Grace Asaba, the Chairperson for Kasese Restaurant Owners attributed their best performance to committed members who love and have the passion for their businesses. Roset Monday, the Chairperson for Kasese People Living with Disabilities told the press that they SACCO managed to perform well because their leaders are active in terms of monitoring the members who benefited from the program
