Government has agreed to reconstruct Kisabu Primary School in Kitholhu sub-county after it was destroyed by devastating floods in May 2020.

Rukia Nakadama, the third Deputy Prime Minister and Minister without Portfolio who visited the institution today afternoon to assess the level of damage caused by floods in Kitholhu sub-county said government would reconstruct the institution but in a safer place.

She however warned the management of institutions and individuals from constructing buildings in places that are prone to floods.

According to her, government is in the process of relocating all the people living in disaster prone areas across the country.

Earlier, the District Education Officer, George S. Mayinja had told the Minister that being a Church of Uganda founded Primary School, they had finalized with South Rwenzori Diocesan authorities to have the school shifted to another place.

Kisabu Primary School has an enrolment of 390 pupils according to Raphael Muhindo Kisyenene, the Chairperson for the School Management Committee.
