  • The former Bunyoro region National Unity Platform-NUP Coordinator Mr. Angalia K Godwin has hipped commendations on NRM government for prevailing peace and stability in the country.

Mr. Angalia says that NRM has done an invaluable sacrifice to liberate and holistically transformed the country.

He added that during the reign of Idi Amin and Obote II, many lives of Ugandans and property were lost and the economy suffered a real setback due to state inspired insecurity and extreme political persecution and extra judicial killings mainly of the dissidents.

Angalia says this sparked ambitions of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to take over power through a protracted people’s liberation struggle, and by the time President Museveni, and NRM took power in 1986, the economy was in deep recession.

“Uganda under the NRM government has lately registered positive strides in the manufacturing sector as well as the small and medium sized enterprises and this explains the improvement in the revenue collections by the Uganda Revenue Authority.” He notes.
