Couples wherever they are have been encouraged to have sustained love for one another if they are to up bring children with good morals.
The encouragement was sounded on Thursday by the retired Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Jackson Thembo Nzerebende while officiating at a thanksgiving ceremony of Mr. Yonah Bafera and his wife Miriam Muhindo Bafera who were celebrating 50 years in marriage.
Preaching to the congregation that had thronged Mughete village in Kitabu sub-county, Bishop Nzerebende urged husbands to take full charge of their wives by loving and caring for them.
He also observed need for the couples to have unity and respect among themselves in a bid to educate their children, develop and remain good citizens in the communities that they come from.
The Prelate hailed Mr. Bafera and his wife for respecting their marriage vows that they took in their youthful ages which according to him have led to development including educating their children; among them is the Bukonzo County East Member of Parliament, Harold Tony Muhindo.
In his maiden speech, Mr. Yonah Bafera hailed the Almighty God for keeping him alive with his beloved wife for the last 50 years in marriage. He revealed that during their 50 years of marriage, they have been able to develop because of their friendship and planning together.
He advised the rest of the couples to always be faithful to their spouses, learn how to forgive and respect their partners.
