Another terror attack? Fruit like Explosive kills two in Semuto

NEWS– The Police in Nakaseke have instituted investigations into an explosive that exploded and killed two children.

The Police Political Commissar Asan Kasingye has confirmed the incident that took place in Ssegalye village, Semuto Sub County in Nakaseke District.

Asan Kasingye identified the deceased as Kiwuuwa Pathias a physically handicapped child and 14 year old Kiyingi Micheal who were playing with it and seriously injured another person.

Its reported that the children picked the metal which looked like a jackfruit and when they started playing with it exploded killing the two instantly.

In a social media tweet, Kasingye asked the general public to report every suspicious object they come across in order to minimise such incidents.

This comes after two separate bombs killed two people and was blamed on the Allied Democratic Forces-ADF who operate in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

It is not established how the Semuto explosive got into the area or if it was left there in the 1981- 1985 war that brought in the current government.
