60 year old Mbarara woman killed in cold blood

MBARARA– The Police in Mbarara district have in detention three suspects in relation to the murder of a 60 year old woman.

According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Region Police spokesperson, the deceased is Kekimuli Joveret alias Kashobire a resident of Rwenkuba Cell, Rwamuhigi Parish, Rubindi Sub County.

Police immediately responded to the scene and found the body with deep cuts on the head. A sniffer dog tracked Tumwine Geoffrey, 31 resident of Akacece cell in Rwamuhigi Parish Mbarara District, a son to the deceased who was arrested alongside other two suspects.

The other suspects are Ndyamwijuka Godfrey 19 resident of Rwenkuba Cell and Oramukunde Johnson 17 resident of Kigoro Cell in Rwamuhigi Parish, Rubindi Sub County.

Police investigations indicate that the deceased and the son, Tumwine, have been embroiled in a long standing conflict over land.

Two exhibits, a panga and hoe suspected to have been used in the murder were recovered at the scene.

Body of the deceased was taken to Mbarara Regional referral hospital for postmortem and case registered at Rubindi Police post.
